Remote

SEO Specialist — Freelance, Hourly

About Us

Lineout is a digital marketing agency focused on regional and community banks. Bank marketing leaders are managing more channels, tools, and data than ever, often without a clear view of what's actually driving results.

Our job is to give them clear strategy, disciplined execution, and reporting they can stand behind.

We're fully remote, with a team spanning media, design, development, and strategy. Across everything we do, we hold ourselves to two standards: sweat the details and own the outcome.

About the Role

You'll execute and optimize SEO strategies across active client accounts, combining technical SEO, keyword strategy, SEO content guidance, on-page optimization, and performance reporting to drive organic growth.

We're looking for someone who can identify technical issues, translate data into actionable recommendations, and independently manage SEO priorities across multiple accounts.

The role is remote, freelance, and hourly, with hours based on workload. It's designed for someone who can step into active accounts quickly and deliver with minimal onboarding.

Project opportunities and hours will depend on client needs, and selection does not guarantee immediate work.

Expected Outcomes

Here's what success looks like in this role:

  • Technical SEO foundations are sound, with critical issues identified, resolved or escalated promptly, and fixes validated after implementation.

  • Keyword and content strategies are grounded in data and aligned with client business goals, with content ideas, outlines, and written content reviewed to ensure SEO readiness.

  • On-page optimizations are implemented consistently across assigned accounts, with changes documented and aligned to keyword strategy.

  • SEO reporting is accurate, timely, and actionable, giving the team clear visibility into performance and opportunities.

  • The team can rely on your execution, communication, and follow-through without chasing updates or re-checking your work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct technical SEO audits and implement optimizations across crawlability, indexing, site architecture, page speed, structured data, and Core Web Vitals.

  • Identify, prioritize, and resolve technical SEO issues, coordinating with development teams when needed and validating implemented fixes.

  • Research and develop keyword strategies aligned with client business goals and dcontent opportunities.

  • Guide SEO content development, including keyword-driven topic ideation, outline reviews, coordinating content requests with writers, and reviewing written content for SEO best practices.

  • Execute and guide on-page SEO optimizations, including metadata, headings, internal linking, and content structure.

  • Monitor organic performance and deliver accurate, data-backed SEO reports with clear insights and recommendations.

  • Manage SEO priorities across multiple client accounts, communicating progress, risks, and opportunities proactively.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of hands-on SEO experience covering technical SEO, on-page optimization, keyword strategy, and SEO content guidance.

  • Proven ability to conduct technical audits, develop keyword strategies, guide SEO content development with writers, and coordinate technical implementations with development teams.

  • Strong proficiency with Semrush, Google Search Console, and GA4.

  • Experience with reporting tools such as Whatagraph, and working knowledge of CMS platforms such as WordPress and Webflow.

  • Agency experience preferred, with the ability to manage SEO priorities across multiple client accounts or business types.

  • Ability to step into active accounts and deliver reliably with minimal onboarding.

  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into clear recommendations.
